Google’s Energy Efficient Data Centers

Google recently shared their design strategy for an energy efficient data center. Something that I hope other data center related businesses can learn from.

According to netcraft, the Internet gained about 6M more sites last month so you can just imagine the number of servers being set up every month just to fill that need. And with every site being put up, that would mean more data that Google has to crawl and store data for. Resulting in more data centers that the company has to put up.

Definitely its nice to see that they are doing their darnest to be more conscious about their impact on the environment. Less energy means less fuel that has to be burned into the atmosphere, more efficient design means less materials that have to be harvested from the earth.

As we’ve always said in this blog, being energy conscious is not only good for the environment but good also for a company’s bottom line.
